White Building named one of the best developments in the region

Southampton’s landmark White Building has been named one of the most inspirational developments in the region at the prestigious RICS South East Awards.

The contemporary office development, in the heart of the city at Cumberland Place, was “Highly Commended” in the Commercial Property Category.
The accolade was presented at the South East RICS Award Ceremony at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton. The event has been run by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for 10 years and celebrates the best built environment projects from the land, property and construction sectors.
Lambert Smith Hampton and JLL are joint agents for the White Building, which has so far been successful in attracting an impressive list of tenants to include James Cowper, Keoghs, Regis Bentley, Novum Law, Wessex Petroleum, Blue Arrow and Manpower with further office space under offer to other well-known companies.

The White Building, a former Inland Revenue building, is recognised as one of the best-designed office environments in Southampton and has already picked up two awards at the South Coast Property Awards – Development of the Year and Workplace Environment of the Year.
An area called “White Studios” has also been added to its mix of office accommodation to offer small serviced office suites.

Andy Hodgkinson, Director of Office Agency for the Lambert Smith Hampton’s South Coast offices, said: “We are delighted that the White Building has been recognised as one of the most inspiring developments in the region.
“It further reinforces what we already knew about the White Building – it really does have a buzz about it and businesses are attracted to its contemporary design and great facilities.”

Andy Oliver, of Ashville Asset Management, which manages the building, said: “We have worked hard to create a high-quality, flexible working environment that promotes a happy and productive workforce.
“We are rightly proud that this has been recognised at the RICS Awards and it puts the White Building on a par with some of the best commercial developments in the South East.”
